Good Shepherd Home Health Services is based in Houston, Texas. Established in 2006, we are licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services (formerly Department of Aging and Disability Services), certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and accredited by the Joint Commission.
Our services include:
- Nursing (Per Visit or 24-hour Private Duty)
- Assessment, Evaluation, Education, and Treatment
- Ventilator, Tracheostomy, Catheter and Continence Care, Feedings, and Medication
- Management/Administration/Teaching, Infusion, and Peripheral/Central Line Care
- Comprehensive Wound Care by Highly Trained Wound Ostomy and Continence Certified Nurses
- Therapy (Physical, Occupational, Speech)
- Our therapists plan, organize, and conduct therapy treatment programs based on the medical referral and close coordination with their own evaluation.
- Medical Social Work
- Our medical social workers assess, analyze, refer, counsel, and coordinate care to meet the needs of the patient/client and family.
- Personal Assistance (Aide, Homemaker, Respite)
- Our personal aides care for patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or registered therapist.
- Our personal care includes, but is not limited to, bathing, feeding, transferring, dressing, ambulating, and meal preparation.
Our management and field staff are registered nurses, therapists, and aides with combined experience in wound care (WOCN), hospital administration, hospice, ICU, ER, oncology, transplant, case Management, and pediatrics, among others. Our aides hold CNA licensure and are overseen by our director of nursing.
In 2010, we were awarded contracts by the Department of Veterans Affairs through the Michael E DeBakey VA Medical Center Houston for seriously wounded veterans as well as contracts for Harris Health System (previously Harris County Hospital District). We continue to serve our Veterans as well as over 20 hospitals and clinics, which include Ben Taub and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospitals for Harris Health.
